PRIVATE EQUITY – SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

A top Private Equity Firm actively looking for a Senior Accountant. This position requires a highly motivated self-starter who possesses strong initiative and the ability to assist in the growth of Company x PE business & able to complete multiple projects in a deadline driven environment.

Responsibilities: 

  • Perform the fund accounting process within the guidelines and procedures and under the supervision and guidance of a Private Equity Director and Managing Director.
  • Preparing quarterly and annual financial statements, including net asset value calculations and financial statements
  • Investigate accounting implications of new products.
  • Handling of fund work (i.e. cash regulations, capital calls, notices & statements, etc.)
  • Review quarterly and audited annual financial statements including footnotes and capital account statements.
  • Review management fee calculations, profit and loss allocations and billing statements in compliance with relevant agreements.
  • Provide administrative support to internal valuation committee, including preparing various analyses/materials, scheduling/participating in meetings, etc.
  • Calculate assets under management metrics, including the industry standard regulatory assets under management, the Hunt-specific real assets managed, and other metrics as needed.
  • Manage the audit process ensuring timely and successful completion of fund audits including preparation of fund financial statements.
  • Reviewing partnership abstracts, partnership investment data, investor data and bank reconciliations
  • Reviewing and preparing issuance of capital call notices, distribution notices, and management fee memorandums to the Limited Partners including models/calculations
  • Reviewing investment activity and maintaining fund investment performance details and calculations
  • Reviewing and preparing quarter-end supporting packages (Trial Balance, General Ledger, receivable/ payable detail, allocation support, etc.)
  • Work with Tax compliance to ensure accurate investor reporting. schedules for annual tax returns, GST, etc.
  • Active participation in client projects (i.e. new fund/classes launches, closures and changes to existing requirements and processes)
  • Having a comprehensive understanding of the client’s partnership agreement(s) and all deliverables

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field with 6 – 9yrs years accounting/audit experience from one of the Big 5 audit or Private Equity firm
  • Experience in the Private Equity industry necessary
  • Strong communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to interact with others at various levels
  • Strong analytical skills
